The relationship between iX.co and PGA TOUR remains tightly integrated
As the PGA TOUR business continues to flourish, our partnership continues to grow.
iX.co has assisted long-term partner PGA TOUR with several major launches. The partnership began when PGA TOUR sought to bring all of its digital properties, including its flagship website and mobile apps in house. Before any work was done, iX.co and the PGA TOUR engaged in extensive strategy and planning sessions. The migration required the assistance of nearly 20 vendors that iX.co helped vet, to assist with everything from video and content management, content delivery, ad operations and delivery, hosting, and mobile platforms.
Once the migration was complete, our teams worked on the design and development of a fully responsive PGATOUR.com and PGA TOUR mobile apps. The redesigns feature simplified navigation, prominent leaderboards, robust player statistics, and enhanced player pages. The PGA TOUR website won a Cynopsis Sports Award for Best Website.
iX.co was proud to roll out the PGA TOUR's iPad app, redesigned to keep new and current fans engaged and informed throughout the entire TOUR season. The app features real-time predictive statistics, never been used in the golf industry before. The app allows fans to track every swing a player takes using shot trails and shot plots. Other features include live streaming video, player and group scorecards, up-to-the minute leaderboard, and latest news and highlights from around the TOUR. The app won an Appy Award for Best Sports Mobile App.
We've worked with the TOUR team on many tournament microsites, including the redesign of the PLAYERS Championship website, one of the TOUR's highest-profile events. Features of this tournament microsite include detailed tournament history, course and travel information, and for the first time ever, the ability to purchase tournament merchandise online.
iX.co provided strategic and design expertise in assisting the PGA TOUR team in the release of their long-form, immersive content pieces. The first one, launched in advance of the Masters Tournament, documented Rickie Fowler's epic victory at the PLAYERS Championship. More recently, PGA TOUR released "The Man Who Inspired an Army," dedicated to Arnold Palmer.
